ABOUT US

I'm an American and Anna is German and together we live in Pirna, a beautiful town in Saxony, eastern Germany. As a cyclist, history buff and map freak, it was inevitable that I would discover the Royal Roads of Saxony hidden in plain sight in the form of the Postsäulen. I used the historic maps from the early 1700's, the actual timetables from 1703, the historic landmarks from the early 18th Century and other data to calculate the old postal routes onto today's transportation infrastructure. Anna and I then ride the roads on our road bikes, gravel bikes and trusty Brompton!
