Castles

01/

There are hundreds of castles & palaces throughout Saxony, many of them undiscovered. From posh palaces of the king to medieval castles of robber knights, the Royal Roads connect them all together

Hubs

02/

There are over 163 hubs, located where the royal Saxon postal monuments are, usually in the market square of towns or cities. Hubs connect the routes and serve as central meeting points along the network, where hotels, restaurants and transportation is available

Royal Postal Markers

03/

The main postal routes had sandstone markers along the roads. There are three types: quarter mile, half mile and full mile markers. A royal Saxon ‘mile’ is about 9.5km in length.
